K2: a powerful platform for process automation
Rich workflow, user-friendly forms, deep visibility and integration across line-of-business systems. We use K2 because it is easy to create (and then amend) applications, it saves time, and it has more than enough capabilities to solve any business process challenge.
Solution’s performance monitoring features: K2 provides a set of Process Overview reports that allow the real-time identification of bottlenecks in a process. It can also help identify non-value added steps or individuals that are the best and worst performers when performing identical or similar tasks. To further extend the ability to monitor a K2 system, MAS created MAPWorkfloz. This client application toolset allows administrators to monitor workflows, workflow data, error recovery, and K2 database health.
Solution’s exception reporting features and processes: K2 has a built-in error management (web client) tool that allows processes to be retried from the point of error. MAS's MAPWorkfloz also has an error management studio module that allows batch retry of multiple errors of the same type while adding timing delays to avoid secondary systems encountering false denial of service errors. The Error Management module in MAPWorkfloz also allows the ability to migrate the process to a new version when attempting to fix the error automatically or use the existing version in the event a secondary system was offline and the root cause of the error. No other company in the K2 space has such a tool or has dedicated such time to this particular space. In addition, K2 has built-in functionality to automatically log to the servers. K2 logging can be monitored or built into the workflow to send email messages directly to workflow administrators.
